Wayward Newlyweds – Day 18: Windsor

The First Lobster

We got up for breakfast around 9:00am, and had waffles, omelettes and back bacon. Mmm Mmm! We lounged around the room for a while, getting our full use out of it including the WiFi. We got going by about 12:00pm and headed toward the Clockmaker’s Inn in Windsor Nova Scotia.

It was a lovely day, and a really great drive. We stopped in Turo to check if we were in time to see the Tidal Bore. Sadly, we were not, and we wanted to get to Windsor by about 3:00pm so we just did a quick wander and then got back on the road. We decided it was time to listen to some more Liriel, and decided to take the slightly longer back country highway to get to Windsor. It was really pretty going through the countryside of Nova Scotia. The one downside was that it was a touch less maintained and we hit a really bad pothole! We made it to the Clockmaker’s around 3:00pm like we wanted to and checked in. Dodd did a quick tire check as he has been doing fairly regularly. Remember that pothole? Well our front passenger tire had a bulge in it. So after getting checked in and taking our bags upstairs Dodd started calling around to local shops. Eventually we found one with the right size, if not the exact same tires in stock. Unfortunately, it was about 30mins away and closed at 5pm. It would have to wait for tomorrow.

We got into our nicely air conditioned room, and settled in. We played a round of Hero Realms, basking in the cool and then Dodd went to ask about restaurants in walking distance, as he was not comfortable driving if we didn’t have to. It so happened that there was a good spot about a half hour walk away. We had some really nice food and our first lobster roll of the trip! We got back to the inn around 10:00pm. I had a lovely bath with jacuzzi jets and all, then we fell into bed.
