The
Farthest East

We were up in decent time. The main thing for the
day was getting to the ferry at Port aux Basque around 9:00pm to get back to
the mainland. I was hoping to find a nice sandy beach for a Canadian version of
the feet in the Atlantic. Whit a bit of quick research I found one, and we
headed that way.

The beach was about an hour north of Gander, which
we needed to go through again to get to the ferry. We got there around noon and
it was beautiful! A bit windy, to the point where I was actually a bit chilly
and wished I had taken my flannel with me. We spent about an hour playing on
the beach and doing silly Insta worthy things. It was a nice little interlude
as we had another 6 or so hours to get to Port aux Basque.

The drive back was quite nice, and we got to the
ferry just after our desired time of 9:00pm. I suddenly realized that we didn't
get any post cards from Newfoundland, and found some in the terminal building,
but I had neglected to bring my wallet with me, and by the time I had
discovered them, the ferry was loading and I had to go back to the car…sigh.
We had upgraded our tickets for this ferry to
reserved seating, which basically gave us extra leg room and a foot stool on
our seats. We did a similar dinner as our first go round which was paninnis from
the café on board. Then we headed up to our seats and settled in.
A pretty nondescript day, but all the goals were
reached in good time!
Cheers
