Alberta
Bound

True to form we got up late-ish. Around 9:30am we
opened the door into the cold and damp morning. Yes, we had been rained on, on
and off, throughout the night. However, we discovered that our bug netting
wicked moisture away from the open windows really well! Bonus! Dodd started up
the stove and boiled some water for oatmeal breakfast while I started striking
camp. We got washed up, loaded up and ready to hit the road by about 10:30am.

We had another awesome view drive through the rest
of the Icefields Parkway. We saw a bear and a few dear. We also saw some crazy evidence of either wildfire or pine beetle control. We started listening to a book on audible (there are
some who would approve of our choice of Sabriel). Then we hit the real Alberta…rolling
hills, mixed with flat, with lots of canola, wheat, and cows. With the occasional
oil rig mixed in.

We got to Bentley by about 2:00pm and were greeted
by a kitty face in the window of Manda’s house. We brought our stuff into the
house, put a load of laundry in and then relaxed until Manda got home. Mostly I
wrote blog, Dodd read and played phone games, and then we both played some
pokemon on the Gameboys.
When Manda got home we had some chats, and then
went to Cilantro and Chive for dinner. There was chicken and waffles…it was
good! There was also lavender beer, which was not so good but drinkable. Sadly
when we got home Manda had to go to bed. Dodd and I stayed up and watched Ralph
Breaks the Internet…it was underwhelming. Then we headed to bed by about
12:30pm.
A nice relaxing nothing day! Sometimes that is
just what you need.

Glad to hear the car camper manages the rain pretty well! It appears that Suka approves of Dodd! That is an interested expression on her face! :)
